CFP: 2nd Annual Skeiron Synod

The Medieval and Early Modern Research Group, an interdisciplinary body of graduate student researchers at the University of Minnesota, invites proposals for its second annual Skeiron Synod, a conference for Medieval and Early Modern Studies.

Although the conference is open to any topic in these fields, this year the conference theme is “exchange,” for which we welcome papers of 15-20 minutes treating aspects of

• the history and economics of trade • cultural exchange • linguistic borrowings and appropriations • theological modes of representing exchange • literary transmission across time and space

in any part of the medieval and early modern world. Papers addressing other topics of interest will be given equal consideration along with papers that adhere to the theme.

Please send abstracts of no more than 300 words by December 15th, 2010, to Adam Oberlin (oberl024@umn.edu).
