Field Trip 4: the Palais de Tokyo

Yesterday we visited the Palais de Tokyo, which may be one of the most exciting sites for international contemporary art that I have visited recently. The current exhibitions demonstrate a high degree of curatorial examination. For me, highlights included recent work by Lee Kit, Emmanuelle Lainé, and JR. I was also particular excited by Taro Isumi’s impressive and often quite funny installation, “Pan,” and Mel O’Callaghan’s magnificent large-screen video, “Dangerous On-the-Way.” However, everyone’s favorite might have been the work of Abraham Poincheval, especially his on-going performance, “Oeuf.”
