CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS – FRIDAY, MAY 3, 2019 – FRENCH-AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, CHICAGO
LOCATION: SOFITEL MAGNIFICENT MILE, 20 E. Chestnut St.
The French-American Chamber of Commerce, Chicago (FACC-Chicago) has a volunteer opportunity for those 18 years or older on Friday, May 3rd at the Sofitel Chicago, 20 E. Chestnut St.: this year is the 41st anniversary of the FACC-Chicago. The Gala La Nuit des Etoiles is a formal cocktail reception and dinner fundraiser followed by dancing, for the FACC-Chicago (our nonprofit 501c6) and for our newly-founded 501c3 charity, the FACC Foundation (proceeds from the live auction that evening will go directly to the Foundation). Approximately 150 guests attend every year from major Chicago-based French and American companies.
Knowledge of French is not necessary to volunteer. Dress code for volunteers is all-black cocktail attire, either a dress or suit (with tie/bowtie encouraged for those wearing suits).
Times vary, but there are opportunities to volunteer in 3- to 4-hour shifts between 1PM (for helping with decorating and set up) through 11PM, or possibly midnight (for packing up decorations, cleaning up). The Gala itself (including the VIP Reception) starts at 5:30 p.m. to midnight. Food and beverages will be provided in the volunteer break room.
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated volunteers help with:
- Checking in guests
- Selling raffle tickets
- Coat check
- Encouraging people to stay and dance after the live auction / helping pack up decoration
