EQUIP: E-Cigarette Quitting Project
EQUIP is a fully remote study that adapts evidence-based tobacco cessation content and tailors it to young adults who use ENDS (electronic nicotine delivery system) only, or those who use ENDS alongside other forms of tobacco. The purpose of this study is to test the effects of a mobile health (mHealth) intervention targeting e-cigarette use on young adults’ tobacco/nicotine use.

Using health communication and telehealth to enhance tobacco treatment
In collaboration with the Clinical Addictions Research Lab, this study aims to improve smoking cessation outcomes for people from lower-income and minoritized backgrounds who are trying to quit smoking. Many of these individuals face barriers to accessing treatment, such as reliable internet or insurance coverage for stop smoking medications. The study will build on the University of Chicago Medicine’s established tobacco treatment program in order to enhance the impact of the hospital’s smoking cessation treatment for those who need it most.

Chicago Chronic Condition Equity Network (C3EN) Pilot Study
This study aims to improve smoking cessation implementation across Chicago’s under-resourced communities through collaboration with the Respiratory Health Association (RHA). By working closely with community members and behavioral health providers to implement a flexible smoking cessation program, the primary goal is to develop a solution that overcomes barriers to treatment provision and reflects the unique needs of the community.
