Anthony Reed

Anthony Reed is Associate Professor of English and African American Studies at Yale University. His
research and publications focus on a
esthetics and politics across a range of
African American and African diaspora literature, music and film. His recent
book Freedom Time: The Poetics and Politics of Black Experimental Writing (Johns Hopkins University Press 2014) received the William Sanders Scarborough
Prize from the Modern Language Association. He is currently completing a
manuscript that takes recorded collaborations between poets and musicians as an
occasion to study the many institutions and local collaborations that have
enabled experimental aesthetics and alternative politics.
