Our basic, translational, and clinical research enterprise is characterized by a fundamental commitment to original inquiry. We provide a full spectrum of education—collegiate, graduate, medical, and postgraduate—characterized by a passionate commitment to rigorous scholarship and interdisciplinary effort.
Our faculty is among the very finest in the nation, and we have several top academic and research programs, including the highly ranked University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine (#15 in US News & World Report) and biological sciences graduate programs (#14 in US News & World Report). Our highly ranked graduate programs include Ecology and Evolution (#4) and Paleontology (#1).

Kenneth S Polonsky MD
Dean
Kenneth S. Polonsky, MD, has served as Dean of the Biological Sciences Division and the Pritzker School of Medicine and EVP for Medical Affairs of the University of Chicago since October 2010. He is the Richard T. Crane Distinguished Service Professor and a prominent diabetes researcher, physician and educator.
