Kathering R. Tsiang

Ph.D University of Chicago – Art History. Katherine Tsiang is in charge of administration and implementation of programs and activities. She coordinates, supervises the Center’s major research and digital imaging projects including the Digital Scrolling Paintings Project, the Tianlongshan Caves Project, the Xiangtangshan Caves Project, and exhibitions associated with these Buddhist cave temple projects. Her research has been concentrated in the fields of Chinese Buddhist art, Chinese ceramics and material culture, and cultural interactions and political rhetoric in the production of art in medieval China. Her professional experience also includes teaching and collaborative work with museums and organizing exhibitions.
