We will kick off the new academic year on Wednesday, October 8th, with a paper presented by Robert Woodberry. Professor Woodberry is Associate Professor of Political Science at the National University of Singapore and a Visiting Fellow at the Kellogg Institution of International Studies. His work examines the impact of Protestant and Catholic missionary activity on the long-term economic and political development of former colonies.
If you are interested in attending the workshop, please email Mark Deming (jmdeming@uchicago.edu), the CPW coordinator, in order to be added to the CPW list serve. This year (2014-15), we will be meeting on weeks 2 though 8 of each quarter. The workshop runs from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Wilder House (5811 S. Kenwood Ave.). Papers are distributed roughly one week in advance.
We look forward to seeing you at the workshop!
