We’re happy to announce the installation of a new laser scanning confocal system, the Leica Stellaris8. This system is the newest in the SP2 / 5 / 8 series and represents the top of the line in Leica’s laser scanning confocal lineup.

Installation was completed on November 24, 2020 and Core staff training was done on December 2, 2020. We are currently creating user training videos to comply with COVID-19 Phase 3 distancing guidelines. We hope to begin training users in early December.

Purchase of this system was possible with capital funding provided through the University of Chicago Research Resources Oversight Committee (RROC) and Dean Gilliam’s office.
