Master of Arts in Religious Studies (AMRS)
The AMRS course of study can be completed in one (1) year on a full-time basis. Students may study on a part-time basis and complete the degree in up to three (3) years.
Successful completion of a minimum of 9 courses, including DVSC 30400– Introduction to the Study of Religion, and one course in two of the three faculty committees.
One-hour oral examination based on a paper written for any class.
We offer rolling admission to the AMRS program. Students may apply for admission for either the Autumn, Winter, or Spring quarter. We do not offer admission for the Summer Quarter.
Domestic applicants: October 15 (Winter admission); January 15 (Spring admission); April 15 (Autumn admission); August 1 (late round for Autumn admission)
International applicants: October 15 (Spring admission); January 15 (Autumn admission); April 15 (Winter admission)

The Divinity School offers merit-based scholarships for AMRS applicants. Divinity scholarships for AMRS students may be renewed for up to 3 years.
Eligible students may also apply for Federal Student Aid (student loans & work-study) by completing and submitting the FAFSA. Our school code is 001774.
