Quantifying Life

Homepage for Quantifying Life: A Symbiosis of Computation, Mathematics, and Biology

This textbook introduces quantitative modeling for biological questions using R programming to make the concepts concrete. The modeling topics include basic mathematics (functions), descriptive statistics, basic probability, estimation of means, hypothesis testing for independence, Bayesian approach, linear and nonlinear least-squares fitting, Markov models, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, difference equations, differential equations, fixed points and stabillity.
