October 30: Zygmunt Baranski and Justin Steinberg on Boccaccio’s Painters

Dear all,
Please join the Early Modern & Mediterranean Worlds (1200-1800) Workshop on Monday, October 30 at 5pmin Rosenwald 405 for a special panel on Boccaccio’s painters (see the attached flyer). We are excited to host Zygmunt Baranski (Notre Dame & Cambridge University), who will be presenting a paper entitled ““Humble Giotto and Pharisaic Forese: Boccaccio’s Decameron VI.5” and Justin Steinberg (University of Chicago), presenting on “The Artist and the Police: Calandrino’s Invisibility and the Legal Fictions of Decameron 8.3.”
This event is presented by the department of Romance Languages & Literatures and co-sponsored by RAVE and the Medieval Studies Workshop. Refreshments will be provided.
