Liz reports to the Associate Provost for Equal Opportunity Programs in implementing the University’s commitment to creating a welcoming community that is free from harassment and unlawful discrimination.

In this role, Liz assists the Associate Provost in implementing the University’s response to reports of violations of the Policy on Harassment, Discrimination, and Sexual Misconduct made against faculty and other academic appointees, including reports of complaints of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking. Liz also works with the Associate Provost to provide training and outreach on discrimination, unlawful harassment, and sexual misconduct to members of the University community. In addition, Liz coordinates with partners across campus to provide leadership on issues related to non-discrimination and unlawful harassment, equal access for individuals with disabilities, and affirmative action to ensure compliance with the law and alignment with best practices in higher education.

Before joining the University of Chicago, Liz was an attorney in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP where she litigated various commercial matters. She also served as a law clerk to Hon. Rebecca R. Pallmeyer on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. In addition, Liz spent a year in South Africa on a Fulbright grant teaching English at the University of Pretoria. Liz received her B.A. summa cum laude in Political Science and International Service from Valparaiso University, and her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Michigan.
