ANNOUNCEMENT 3/12/2018

Reorganization of the Office for Equal Opportunity Programs

From: Darren Reisberg, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Deputy Provost

Subject: Reorganization of the Office for Equal Opportunity Programs

Date: March 12, 2018

I am writing to share news about the reorganization of Equal Opportunity Programs, which is led by Associate Provost Bridget Collier.  As a part of this reorganization, which we see as increasing EOP’s visibility, efficiency and effectiveness, the following three related-but-distinct compliance program offices are being established and will report up to Bridget:

  • The Office for Sexual Misconduct Support and Resources
  • The Office for Access and Equity, and
  • The Office for Affirmative Action

Shea Wolfe will serve as the Director of the Office for Sexual Misconduct Support and Resources, continuing to serve as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Students/Associate Dean of Students for the University. She will continue to partner closely with the Office of the Dean of Students in the University, led by Michele Rasmussen, and will have primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day functions associated with the University’s Title IX obligations related to students.  Shea will also be leading, in coordination with campus partners, the efforts on training and prevention of sexual misconduct.

Liz Honig will serve as the Director for the Office of Access and Equity and as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. Liz will have primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations associated with the University’s efforts to ensure non-discrimination against and accessibility for individuals with disabilities.  Liz will also assist with Title IX related efforts for faculty and staff, including facilitating training sessions and resolution of complaints.

The Director of the Office for Affirmative Action position is currently open and posted on the University’s Workday career site under the following requisition number: JR00450. The Director will have primary responsibility for leading (and coordinating with human resources and other campus partners to address) the day-to-day compliance activities associated with the University’s affirmative action efforts and assisting with Title IX related efforts for faculty and staff, including facilitating training sessions and resolving complaints.

Mitchell Kittlaus will serve as the Associate Director for Equal Opportunity Programs, reporting to Bridget, and providing essential operational and project support across the Director team.

Please feel free to share this message with your colleagues. Should you have any questions, please let either me or Bridget know.
