53rd Street’s Dearborn Denim & Apparel to host local Hyde Park artist and musician at pop-up event

Dearborn Denim & Apparel at 1504 E. 53rd Street is showcasing two local Hyde Park talents at a pop-up event at the store on Saturday, April 7, at 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Artist Yuqing Zhu will display her latest work, and musician Zion Rodman will perform songs from his albums, “Did Not Wake Up Today” and “You’re Invited.”

Zhu is currently a PhD candidate in the University of Chicago’s Neuroscience program, and met Rodman through a mutual friend. The two connected over music and art, and Zhu created the album cover art for Rodman’s new release, “Did Not Wake Up Today.”

Dearborn Denim & Apparel, owned by Rob McMillan and managed by Kaleb Sullivan, regularly hosts a variety of performances and events in the store. Saturday’s concert and art exhibition will also feature complimentary Old Style beer for guests 21 and over – Old Style is now the official beer of Dearborn Denim.
