Hyde Park Neighborhood Club to Serve as New Polling Location Due to Construction in Former Treasure Island Foods Space

In previous years, the former Treasure Island Foods store at the Hyde Park Shopping Center has served as a neighborhood polling place, but due to current construction activity in the space, voting activity will be moved to the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club at 5480 S. Kenwood Avenue. The Hyde Park Neighborhood Club is approximately 0.4 miles away, or 3-4 blocks from the Hyde Park Shopping Center.

The Hyde Park Neighborhood Club is now the designated polling place for residents in the 1st precinct of the 4th ward, and the 24th precinct of the 5th ward. Voters are strongly encouraged to confirm their exact polling location on the City of Chicago Board of Election Commissioners’ website prior to election day to avoid any delays. Voting hours are between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26.

As mentioned in a December 2018 blog post, a variety of construction activity is now underway in the space, including roofing repairs and utility upgrades.

For additional election and voting information, voters may contact the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners at 312-269-7900 before February 26, at 312-269-7870 on the day of the election, or via email.
