For Hyde Park residents celebrating Thanksgiving next week (Thursday, November 28), a number of local businesses are offering dine-in and pre-made take-out meals, as well as ordering for turkeys, pies, and more. Whether you’re planning on cooking at home, would prefer to dine out, or would like take-out options to serve at home, you’ve got several great options in the neighborhood:
Dine-In / Take-Out
Ascione Bistro – 1500 E. 55th Street – 773-363-8161
Chef Gaetano Ascione’s new Italian restaurant in the Courtyard at the Harper Court Shopping Center has planned a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for $24/person, from 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Contact the restaurant for reservations or go online.
The two restaurants sharing the same space in the City Hyde Park building will be offering a Thanksgiving buffet in the restaurant, or dinner-to-go options for pick-up with smoked or fried turkey, sides, and desserts. Give them a call, visit the restaurant, or go to their holiday website for more information.
Hyde Park Produce – 1226 E. 53rd Street – 773-324-7100
This family-owned grocery store in Kimbark Plaza has a great selection of Amish and organic turkeys available to order in the deli, and if you’d like to have your Thanksgiving groceries delivered, you’ll receive $10 off your first order with Mercato when you use the promo code “GOBBLE.” Offer valid on order of $35+ and ends November 30.
The Promontory – 5311 S. Lake Park Avenue West – 312-801-2100.
Order your Thanksgiving pies from The Promontory by November 24, to be picked up at the restaurant on Tuesday, November 26 or Wednesday, November 27 from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Flavors include Chocolate Pecan, Chai Pumpkin, Sweet Potato Meringue, and Cherry, as well as a Turkey Pot Pie if you want to forgo the bird and get more creative.
Vanille Patisserie – 5229 S. Harper Court – 773-868-4574
Vanille offers five different pie flavors (Apple Streusel, Chocolate Nutella French Silk, Maple Cream, and Pecan) as well as Thanksgiving cakes, decorated sugar cookies (available as a tray, individually, or as a kit), and printed holiday macarons available for order. BTW, the sugar cookies that look like a slice of pumpkin pie and turkeys could not be cuter.
