Hyde Park is Hiring Event Matches Candidates with Local Jobs

Despite the early rain showers, the Hyde Park is Hiring event in Harper Court on Tuesday, June 29 attracted many candidates to meet with local businesses hiring for a variety of restaurant, retail, and administrative positions.

 

Representatives from 14 Parish, Busted Bra Shop, the David Rubenstein Forum and Quadrangle Club at The University of Chicago, Ivy Residences, Ja’ Grill, Jolly Pumpkin Pizzeria & Brewery, Kemit Academy, Kilwins, Love & Light Cafe, Mac Properties, MBC Financial Strategies, Native Foods Cafe, Philz Coffee, Trader Joe’sThe Silver RoomSophy Hotel, The Study Hotel, sweetgreen, and Wesley’s Shoes all staffed tables to informally meet with job candidates, answer questions, and in some cases make on-the-spot hires.

 

Organized by the University of Chicago’s Commercial Real Estate Operations (CREO) and Office of Civic Engagement (OCE) teams, the event was co-sponsored by Downtown Hyde Park, the Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce, the South East Chicago Commission (SECC), and the offices of 4th ward Alderman Sophia King and 5th ward Alderman Leslie Hairston.
