FAQ

Can I register as an individual?

Absolutely! However, we recommend you use this option as the last resort in case you can’t form your own team before the registration deadline. In that case, you will be asked several questions to help facilitate the team formation process. Individuals will be informed of their teams on Monday, April 24th.

Do I really need to find a team?

We highly recommend that all interested participants find their own team to ensure compatibility. While we will do our best to group individual participants into teams, we cannot guarantee that everyone will get along. We have also found pre-formed teams tend to perform better in the competition. Please reach out to your classmates and network or utilize our spreadsheet to find people you connect with and form a team! If you still can’t find a team, please register and we will place you in one!

How much time is this going to take up?

This depends greatly on what the team is planning to do and impending deadlines. We estimate at least 5 h/week per participant.

I don’t know if I like consulting.

If you are interested in solving problems, give this case competition a try! For graduate students especially, it is rare to have the opportunity to solve a completely different kind of problem outside of your field of research. At the end of the competition you will have gained valuable experience in solving problems and working in a team.
