Dr. Chasson specializes in the assessment of and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), hoarding disorder, body focused repetitive behavior (BFRB) disorders (e.g., skin picking and hairpulling), and tics and Tourette’s Syndrome.
Dr. Chasson adopts gold-standard evidence-based treatment techniques for these conditions, such as exposure and response prevention, habit reversal training, stimulus control and situation selection, cognitive therapy, and skill building. Other CBT techniques (e.g., assertion training, contingency management, behavior activation) are added as needed. Intensive treatment options may be available depending on availability. He works closely with the psychiatric team for those who need assistance with the biomedical components of treatment (e.g., medications, surgery follow-up).
