A short segment of temporal artery is surgically removed, primarily to evaluate for temporal arteritis.

• Measure length and diameter.
• Describe outer surface.
• DO NOT SERIALLY SECTION!
• Submit the artery INTACT in a cassette.
• In Vantage, be sure to designate that this is a tubular portion of artery.
• Histology will section and embed.
