Please join us at 12 PM (CDT) on Friday, May 28 (please note special day and time) as we welcome Maxine Berg, Professor of History at the University of Warwick, and Pat Hudson, Professor Emeritus of History at Cardiff University.
Maxine and Pat will be presenting selections from their upcoming book Slavery, Capitalism, and the Industrial Revolution. The proposal for the book (to be read in advance) can be accessed HERE. The authors will also present details from their chapters “Small Islands, Big Consumption: Sugar’s Global Economy” and “Financial Capitalism” before opening the floor for discussion.
