Congratulations to Dr. Giger on the recent acquisition of QuantX, by biotech incubator Paragon Biosciences. QuantX is an FDA-cleared artificially intelligent diagnostic tool, which aims to help radiologists accurately identify breast cancer in patients. Quantitative Insights, a University of Chicago startup, led by Dr. Maryellen L. Giger and supported by the university’s Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, developed the tool.
QuantX is currently used to conduct research by radiologists at the University of Chicago and the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas. Dr. Giger remains involved as an adviser post acquisition.
