Aasim I. Padela, MD, MSc

Director of Program on Medicine and Religion; Director of Initiative on Islam and Medicine; Associate Professor, Section of Emergency Medicine; Faculty, Maclean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics

Dr. Padela is an emergency medicine physician, health services researcher, and bioethicist whose scholarship focuses on the intersection of minority health and bioethics through the lens of the healthcare experiences of American Muslim patients and health care providers.

Rosie Duivenbode, MD, MSc

Rosie Duivenbode, MD, MSc

Postdoctoral Scholar

Dr. Duivenbode has a joint medical and clinical research degree from Utrecht University in the Netherlands and first got involved with II&M through our medical student internship. Her research interests are the medical decision-making of Muslim patients at the end-of-life, Islamic and Muslim perspectives on organ donation, and the practice of female genital cutting in Muslim populations.

Stephen Hall, MPH

Stephen Hall, MPH

Research Specialist

Mr. Hall earned his Master of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology through the Univ. of Illinois at Chicago. His research experiences include national and local disease surveillance projects, novel methods for HIV prevention, quality improvement research, and health disparities research. Stephen is passionate about public health, mixed methods research, and culturally tailored health interventions.

Ms. Snowber, a Chicago native, is a 4th year undergraduate at the University of Chicago pursuing a degree in Biology and minoring in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Khadija is passionate about Muslim Health education and social justice medicine. Post graduation Khadija hopes to pursue a career in medicine inshallah. For fun Khadija likes to read, bake, and explore her multicultural Latin and Arab roots through cooking.
