Welcome back! Please join us at Islamic Studies Workshop this quarter for our exciting schedule of events. We will be meeting on alternate Wednesdays from 12:30-1:30pm in Swift 201. Our schedule is as follows-

Oct. 24th: Zach Winters (NELC) – Messianism and Revolt in 15th-Century Iran: The Musha’sha’id Order in al-Mu’ālī’s Khunkār-nāma

Nov. 7th: Eman Elshaikh (MAPSS – Anthropology) – Arabic without Arabs: Golden Chronotopes, Purist Language Ideologies, and the Voice of the ‘Ummah in the Discourses of Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

Nov. 14th*: Zahra Moeini (Divinity) – The Qur’an is as the Qur’an Says: The Twelver Shī’ī Imams on the Nature of the Qur’an

Dec. 5th: Rachel Schine (NELC) – Nourishing the Noble: A Tale of Breastfeeding in Arabic Popular Literature
