Koya Scott received her B.S. in Biology from Loyola University Chicago. Her undergraduate research focus was zooplankton identification, the uses of global medicinal plants in Western medical institutions, and species distribution models to predict the impact of climate and land use change on amphibians. She received her M.S. in Biotechnology from Rush University, where her research area focused on drug treatment for various cancer cell lines, including MDA-MB 231, MDA-MB 453, WTK1, NH32, and TK6. She also completed her Capstone study on the effects of kidney disease for underrepresented groups in the Chicago land area.
She joined the Khader lab as a Senior Research Analyst in 2023.
