Kim Research Group

About Us

We are a group of interdisciplinary students, staff, and faculty at the University of Chicago. Our mission is to advance value-based healthcare and public policy decision making by defining, measuring, and communicating the value of health and policy interventions.

Our work is led by Dr. David Kim, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Public Health Sciences at the University of Chicago. As a health economist, he has extensive experience in economic evaluation and simulation modeling, and his work has contributed to many publications that identify opportunities to improve population health, health care, and health equity.

Our research projects focus on a range of issues, including:

        • Food and nutrition insecurity
        • Low-value care
        • Cost-effectiveness analysis
        • Microsimulation modeling
        • Value of information
        • Oral health
        • Anti-obesity medications
