In spring 2018, Laura was awarded the UChicago Center for Latin American Studies Tinker Foundation Field Research Grant to conduct pre-dissertation archival work in Buenos Aires, Argentina in fall 2018. During her trip, she investigated esoterism, spiritism, and other occult practices as they were invoked in relationship to politics, culture, and state terrorism in late-twentieth-century Argentina.
