Lee Clifford is Deputy Editor at Fortune, focused on finance coverage. She manages a team of reporters that cover money, markets, investing, as well as people and companies making headlines. She edits Fortune’s Quarterly Investment Guides, and some of the most-read daily newsletters such as Term Sheet and CFO Daily. She regularly contributes to the magazine, editing features and annual franchises. She serves as a co-chair of several live events at Fortune including the Impact Initiative, Global Sustainability Forum, and CFO Series. 

Previously she spent a decade at Fortune in New York, writing and editing stories about business, and was named one of the top “30 Under 30” business journalists nationwide. She also co-founded a philanthropic startup that raised money for 30+ charities through its products sold at Nordstrom and other retailers. She started her career as a Reporter at SmartMoney, the Wall Street Journal’s personal finance magazine. She grew up in Seattle, graduated from Columbia University with a degree in History, and is now based outside of Chicago
