Group Head, Corporate Finance and Treasurer, Envestnet, Inc.

Laura is a dynamic financial and strategic leader with proven success in building new capabilities and executing turnarounds. She is currently Group Head, Corporate Finance and Treasurer at Envestnet, Inc., which is a public company providing financial and wealth management technology and services to one-third of financial advisors in the US.

Laura joined Envestnet in 2015, and leads corporate finance, treasury, financial planning and analysis, and procurement. Prior to that, she was CFO of Encompass Insurance, a $1.2B personal lines insurance company owned by Allstate where she repositioned the business for growth and profitability. Before joining Encompass, Laura held various executive roles at Allstate: in Corporate Finance and Planning where she led strategic planning and competitor intelligence activities for the corporation; in Marketing where she was responsible for marketing strategy and direct marketing for the $27 billion property casualty business; and in Protection Finance, where she led financial support for Product, Marketing, Distribution, and Claims functions in the property casualty business, in addition to talent management for over 250 finance professionals.

Prior to joining Allstate, Laura held various positions in corporate finance with Sears, Roebuck and Co., where she managed the $23B debt portfolio, and was a key player in the strategic realignment and divesture of Allstate, Dean Witter Discover, Coldwell Banker and Homart. Prior to Sears, Laura was with FMC Corporation where she spearheaded a $400M derivative hedging program, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago as a commissioned bank examiner. She also served as a faculty member at the Illinois Institute of Technology creating and teaching a course on derivatives.

Laura graduated cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago with a degree in finance, and earned her MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. She is President of the Board of Directors for JDRF Illinois, a former board member and finance chair at The Chicago Children’s Museum, and a former board member of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School. In addition, she is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the Chicago Finance Exchange, and a fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago.

Laura has a son who is a social worker, and a daughter in law school. She lives in Chicago and is a dedicated road cyclist, averaging 100-125 miles/week (when the temperature is above 45 degrees).
