Monica was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She received her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Southern California in 2018. After graduation, she joined the University of Pennsylvania’s Psychology department as a Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellow. She was also a Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Chicago, before joining UofC as an Assistant Professor in 2023. Personal Website
