Mosaic Poetry Journal《馬賽克詩刊》, a semiannual fall-winter poetry journal, was founded in December 2022. The authors of the journal have published their works in Poetry Periodical《詩 刊》,The Star Poetry Monthly《星星》,Poetry Monthly《詩歌月刊》,Youth 《青春》, Prose Poetry《散文詩》,and other publications. Some of them have won or been shortlisted for the Tongji Poetry Society’s Three-Line Poetry Competition, the Jing Qufeng Short Poem Prize, Lu Xun Youth Literature Prize and other awards from the national, provincial and municipal levels. It has two members of the Municipal Writers’ Association, two editors-in-chief of school newspapers, and one editor of a private literary journal.
“MOSAIC” means “artistic work that deserves meditation and patience.” For the passionate and dedicated post-00 youths, the activity of writing creates a vibrant tension. In order to appreciate poetry writing, and embrace the warmth of language, we will use Mosaic Poetry Journal as the campground to write in the face of the unexperienced and the unknown. The journal plunges into promiscuity and ecstasy rendered by the combination of words at a microscopic level. We sketch a blueprint of life within poetry. When life is repeatedly and recklessly smeared by banality, poetry is the overcoming, the restoration, a resistance that allows time to thaw from its emptiness.
Every volume of Mosaic Poetry Journal consists of 3-5 columns. Stargazing 觀星 showcases the language power of mature Gen Z poets. Each issue introduces 5-10 poems by one post-00s poet whose work has a pioneering awareness and a strong writing foundation. We will invite domestic critics to comment on the poems, presenting the author’s personal writing and thoughts comprehensively.
Gaming 對弈 is a tent for the two post-00s poets to gaze at each other, irrigating one another’s souls with the language of poetry. Each issue introduces 2 post-00s poets whose works are marked by its modernity and retrospection, with perspectives unique to the post-00s. We encourage emerging poets to submit their works. Poets’ experience and reputation in the poetry world will not be evaluated– acceptance is based only on the quality of poems.
Feeding 反哺 focuses on new faces among the young generation of poets who are sprouting with infinite potential. Each issue introduces 3-6 poems by 4 post-00s poets. These poems aim to present the spirit of exploration regarding the construction of aesthetics or meaning. Priority is given to poems with a sense of defamiliarization and peculiarity.
There are other columns that will continue to be launched, so please look forward to them. A special note: we do not accept classical Chinese poems or prose poems. Our author group is post-00s, so we hope non-targeted authors will bear with us. Past issues and submission guidelines can be found in our Wechat account: Gs451159452. We encourage you to subscribe to our Wechat official account for recent updates and full submission information.
