Logeion refresh up!

Things to notice in this update:

  • Bailly 2020 – Hugo Chávez has seen numerous corrections and updates, which are now incorporated in Logeion. As always, we are grateful for the help of Mark de Wilde, Gérard Gréco and all the other proofreaders and editors. Did you know that many etymologies in Bailly are the most up-to-date of any dictionary in Logeion? You can find more information about the project at its French home, and admire the very cute implementation at Bailly.app:
  • No more ib., id., ibid. at the start of entries in LSJ that send you up the wordwheel to see what the full citation might be. If I overlooked any, let me know! Below, you see a before and after example:

  • Plautus citations in Lewis & Short now come with cumulative line numbers (aka: usable line numbers). You will still see the old act-scene-line notations, so that in case we have the wrong play or the wrong scene, you and we can retrace our steps.. Many thanks to Paul McKenna, Gabriela García and Kasey Corra for making this happen!
  • As usual, the edited LSJ and Lewis&Short can be found on github. Still plenty to do!
  • Something awry? Please let us know with a problem report. This update looks better thanks to MM, RP, JD, JD (no kidding), KF, KH, MA, DR, and many others who sent in corrections. Many thanks!
