Carolina Puccoon (Lithospermum Caroliniese)

A late spring bloomer, was able to catch three distinct phases of the flowering process.

Flowers are just starting to open up.

Flowers are about half opened up. This guy really stands out in the field of blue Lupine.

Here you can see the fully opened flowers. Note how the yellow is so saturated that it is hard to discern detail in the open pedals.
