Apparently the wildfire was either contained or burnt itself out before reaching the bridge marking the transition from black oak savanna to sand dunes.

At this point one would not know that the rest of the woods had been burned, unless you turned around and looked back the other way.


Plenty of Columbine this time of year.


Grasses and sedges along the edge of the small lake.


Chokecherry bushes in full bloom.


Here we have the perennial favorite of hikers every where, poison ivy!
