Miller Woods Early Summer – Pt1

By the beginning of summer Miller Woods was vibrant and the wild flowers were on display.

Everything was beautifully green and other than charred stumps and branches there were no indications that there had been a wild fire just a few months earlier.


These intense magenta Phlox were what caught my eye but the insect, which I did not notice when I took the pic, turned out to be my favorite part of this photo.  I call these instances “accidental captures”, when I discover something cool in a photo which I had not noticed at the time.


This time of year nearly every inch of the ground was densely covered in Bracken Fern.


Bright yellows are so difficult to capture without blowing out the details.
