As the year transitions into autumn the brightly colored wild flowers become increasingly hard to find.  However vibrant colors can still be found in abundance adorning the fruiting bodies of fungi, otherwise known as mushrooms.

 

Orange and red hues atop a snow white stem…

 

Deep golden yellows..

 

Rich blues…

 

And purples.

 

Some are multicolored…

 

Some come in bunches.

 

Some are tiny…

 

Some are spiney.

 

And some look like sponges.
