Research Study

The overall goal of MDMC is to test different programs that help older adults with diabetes manage their care goals.  All study visits take place over the phone, in the comfort of your home, and the surveys can be taken over the phone or online.

If you are over 60 with type 2 diabetes, join the study and help test our programs.  It may reveal the best way to provide personalized care for older adults with diabetes.

Some Things Are Easier From Home

If you are eligible to participate in the study, you will be randomly assigned to one of three programs we are testing.  The study lasts about one year.  You will receive one call per month and each call will take about 20 minutes. You will also take three surveys, one when you first sign up, one after 6 months, and one at the end of the study.  Each survey will take about 25 minutes to complete.  Any questions? Check the FAQ or e-mail the study team.

Why Join Our Study?

Teaming up with us will help improve our understanding of how we can provide the best diabetes care for older adults.  By joining our study, you are taking an active role in:

  • Helping others, including family members or friends with diabetes
  • Being a part of the cure; the information we learn will be used to inform strategies for the best way to provide care for older adults with diabetes
  • Testing new technologies and methods that might work better than those currently available
  • Gain access to the resources relevant for aging and diabetes

MDMC is enrolling participants through spring 2023. Learn more about the study here.
