On behalf of the Medicine and Its Objects Workshop (M&IO), we would like to extend our warmest welcome to you all as we begin the 2021-2022 academic year.
As the University of Chicago moves towards convening in-person, M&IO plans to transition into the same*. However, in order to maximize accessibility and remain flexible in ever-changing circumstances, we will also be keeping options for hybrid attendance and virtual presentations available throughout the year. As in previous years, we will be meeting alternating Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00pm.
Our first meeting will be a welcome reception on Wednesday, September 29th (room TBA). We look forward to seeing you there! Unlike our regular meetings, this reception will not include a virtual format. However, we will keep the Zoom link open 15 minutes prior to session start times in following weeks, which we hope will be an opportunity to socialize and catch up for those who can only attend virtually this quarter.
To help us plan for in-person room capacity, we would very much appreciate it if you would let us know whether you plan to attend the welcome reception by emailing Megan or Anna (mmacgregor@uchicago.edu; priorah@uchicago.edu).
Reminder: If you would like to workshop a paper with us during the 2021-2022 academic year, please fill out our participant interest form, here. This is a rolling call and we will review submissions as they are received, however, for consideration for Fall term, please complete the form by September 17th, 2021.
Warmly,
Anna and Megan
