Two new workshops scheduled with the Western Mediterranean Culture Workshop

I’m pleased to announce the addition of two more workshops to our schedule, in co-sponsorship with the Western Mediterranean Workshop:

Mohamad Ballan (Graduate Student, Social Sciences, University of Chicago) will be presenting his paper entitled “Between Castilian Reconquista and Ottoman Jihad: A Reconsideration of the 1501 Hispano-Muslim Qasida to Sultan Bayezid II.” Wednesday, March 2.

Sabahat Adil (PhD Student, Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, University of Chicago) will be presenting her paper on “The Sociocultural Dimensions of Water Usage in Medieval Valencia.” Wednesday, March 30.

Both workshops have been added to the WMCW schedule, as well as our own. We will be sending out follow-up announcements as the date for these workshops approaches. In the meanwhile, visit the WMCW site! They’ve got a lot of interesting events coming up!
