The primary research study focuses on three of the developments selected by The MacArthur Foundation as high-priority sites for post-occupancy support: Oakwood Shores, Park Boulevard, and Westhaven Park. Variations in context, design, governance, and service-provision strategies at these developments have provided a rich comparison of strategies and experiences.
Additional research, funded by The Rockefeller Foundation, was conducted at Jazz on the Boulevard beginning in 2004. In 2010-2011, we also completed research work at a fifth mixed-income development, Roosevelt Square. Through a partnership with Heartland Alliance and The Ford Foundation, we conducted a short-term study exploring the issue of community building. The Annie E. Casey Foundation has provided additional funding to support this mixed-income research.
