Tareq Kass-Hout

Tareq Kass-Hout is a board-certified neurologist, vascular neurologist, neuroimager, and neurointerventionalist specializing in minimally invasive treatments of brain and spinal cord vascular disease. His research interests include ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, cerebral aneurysm treatment, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and neuroimaging. His clinical practice focuses on cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and fistulas of the brain and spine, intracranial atherosclerosis, carotid artery disease, acute stroke thrombectomy, pseudotumor cerebri, subarachnoid hemorrhage, transient ischemic attack, and preoperative tumor embolization of the brain and spine.
He has many publications in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters.
Kass-Hout received his MD from Damascus University School of Medicine, after which he completed his neurology residency training at the Jacobs Neurological Institute at the University at Buffalo, during which he also held a fellowship in neuroimaging. Following his residency, he completed a vascular neurology fellowship at Emory University, a neuro-critical care fellowship at the University of Miami, and an endovascular neurosurgery fellowship at Rutgers University. Most recently, he was an assistant professor of neurology, neurosurgery, and radiology at Rush University Medical Center.
