Profile
Andrew Fisher
Assistant Professor
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Andrew Fisher specializes in obstetric and gynecologic medicine and delivers comprehensive well-women care. He treats a wide range of conditions, including irregular and heavy periods, opioid use disorder in pregnancy, and hormone therapy and surgery for gender-affirming transgender patients. He has also joined the University of Chicago Medicine’s transabdominal cervical cerclage program, which offers procedures that strengthen the cervix during pregnancy to prevent premature labor for women who have a weakened or short cervix.
To elevate his clinical practice, he evaluates and develops new and improved treatments and techniques to enhance the lives of his patients, such as developing easier ways for patients to access medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder in pregnancy, as well as working with his colleagues to provide more robust LGBTQIA care.
Fisher earned his MD and MBE at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
