Ayodeji Adegunsoye

Ayodeji Adegunsoye is a pulmonary and critical care physician-scientist, with a particular interest in the intersection between clinical risk-prediction models and genomic markers in patients with fibrotic lung diseases. He is focused on identifying genetic and genomic factors that influence heterogeneity and prognosis. His current project seeks to utilize data from diverse races to improve clinical decision-making processes and pulmonary fibrosis outcomes. By leveraging advanced statistical techniques in the delivery of high-quality care, his research has identified improved practical strategies to optimize pharmacotherapy in patients with pulmonary fibrosis.
His research has been published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, European Respiratory Journal, CHEST, and Thorax.
Adegunsoye holds an MD from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and completed an internal medicine residency at Drexel University. He earned a master’s degree in public health sciences from the University of Chicago, where he also completed his pulmonary and critical care fellowship. Most recently, he was a Coggeshall Instructor of Medicine at the University of Chicago Medicine, where he taught and mentored students, residents, and fellows.
