Elisheva Coleman

Elisheva Coleman is a vascular neurologist with expertise in diagnosing and treating stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and other neurovascular conditions. Areas of clinical expertise include post-stroke rehabilitation and recovery, especially recovery of language in patients with post-stroke aphasia. Her research interests include language recovery after stroke and stroke clinical trials, with a particular interest in developing strategies to maximize enrollment of underrepresented minorities in stroke trials.
Her work has been published in Current Atherosclerosis Reports, Cephalalgia, Journal of Fusion Energy, Stroke, Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases, and Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery.
Coleman earned a BA in American history summa cum laude from Princeton University. She received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she was awarded honors in neurology, surgery, family medicine, and pediatrics clinical rotations, and where she spent four weeks on rotation at the Indian Health Service on the Blackfoot Reservation in Montana. She completed a postgraduate fellowship in the Cerebrovascular Division, Department of Neurology, at the University of Cincinnati, and a residency in neurology and an internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
