Elizabeth Starker

Elizabeth Starker specializes in pediatric anesthesiology, with a particular interest in pediatric pain and airway management. She has contributed book chapters for Yao & Artusio’s Anesthesiology: Problem-Oriented Patient Management, ninth edition (Wolters Kluwer, 2020), and Pediatric Anesthesiology: A Problem-Based Learning Approach (Oxford University Press, 2018).

Starker received a BA in biology with concentration honors from Hamilton College, and an MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey—Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her residency in anesthesiology at New York–Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she served as chief resident. During her residency, she received the Hospital for Special Surgery’s Resident Award for Clinical Excellence in Regional Anesthesia. She then completed a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Most recently, she was an assistant attending anesthesiologist at New York–Presbyterian Hospital and an instructor of anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she was honored with the Weill Cornell Department of Anesthesiology Patient Safety Award.
