Ewain Gwynne

Ewain Gwynne’s research focuses on random curves and random surfaces that arise in statistical mechanics. He is interested in probability theory, including statistical mechanics, Schramm-Loewner evolution, random planar maps, Liouville quantum gravity, and random walks in random environments.
His work has been published in Communications in Mathematical Physics, Notices of the American Mathematical Society, Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, Inventiones Mathematicae, Annals of Probability, Electronic Communications in Probability, Annales de l’Institut Henri Poincaré, International Math Research Notices, Annales de l’Institut Fourier, Electronic Journal of Probability, Annales de l’ENS, and Probability Theory and Related Fields. His most recent awards include the Rollo Davidson Prize, given annually to an early-career probabilist, and a Clay Research Fellowship.
Gwynne received his PhD in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a BA in mathematics and mathematical methods in the social sciences from Northwestern University.
