Mei-Yin C. Polley

Mei-Yin C. Polley is a statistician who specializes in the design, conduct, and analysis of cancer clinical trials, specifically for breast and brain cancer. Her methodological research focuses primarily on developing innovative statistical methods to evaluate cancer biomarker reproducibility and validation. Other areas of statistical research include prediction modeling, sample size methods for biomarker studies, and design and analysis of biomarker-based clinical trials. She is the senior statistician of the Brain Tumor Committee for NRG Oncology, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)–sponsored member of the National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN).

She has been honored with the Award for Excellence in Clinical Research from the American Brain Tumor Association. An expert in oncology statistics, she has served on many scientific governing and advisory bodies, including several NCI NCTN steering committees and the Scientific Program Committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).

Polley received her MS and PhD in biostatistics from Columbia University, as well as an MA in statistics from Harvard University. Most recently, she was a faculty member in the Department of Health Sciences Research at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.
