Reji Microbial Ecology & Biogeochemistry Lab

Linta Reji, Ph.D. (PI)

I am a microbial ecologist and a biogeochemist focusing on microbial elemental cycling in terrestrial and coastal systems. I received my Ph.D. from the department of Earth System Sciences at Stanford University, where I studied archaea mediating nitrogen transformations in the coastal ocean. My postdoctoral research in the department of Geosciences at Princeton University focused on mechanistic underpinnings of microbially mediated trace gas cycling in soils and wetlands.

I am a graduate student in the Reji lab. My research interest is on deciphering how microbes (Bacteria  and Archaea) are involved in Earth’s global elemental cycles. I use both microbial omics techniques and geochemical experiments as research tools. I majored in Oceanography as an undergraduate at SUSTech (advised by Professor Chuanlun Zhang) and my previous project focused on the dynamics of microbial communities in Daya Bay.
