In December 2023, SEDS-UChicago submitted a proposal for their 2U cubesat, PULSE-A.  PULSE-A is a satellite that aims to accomplish space-to-ground optical communication for cheaper than ever done before.  Simultaneously, it serves as a testbed for a future quantum key distribution satellite. The acceptance of the proposal by NASA means that PULSE-A has secured a launch upon the completion of its build.
